Chris Heenan and Stephen Flinn’s collaborations date back to 2002 in Los Angeles. Now that Stephen has relocated to Berlin from New York City they have seamlessly picked up where they left off years ago. While well aware of each other's respective vocabularies, the duo isn’t adverse to developing new sonic territory in -the - moment. While listening to this duo be prepared to be surprised.
Chris Heenan is an active composer/performer and organizer of experimental music living in Berlin, Germany. He performs on saxophones, bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet and analog synthesizer in contexts ranging from solo to large groups and in various ongoing projects. Heenan uses these instruments to investigate new musical forms, noise, and improvisation both in his solo work and in collaboration with composers and performers such as musicians, dancers, and visual artists.
Stephen Flinn is a composer, performer, and improviser living in Berlin, Germany. He performs throughout Europe, Japan, and the United States in contexts ranging from solo to large groups, supporting Butoh dancers, and various ongoing projects.He has spent decades experimenting with traditional percussion to create distinct sounds and phonic textures, and to finding new extended techniques for expressing himself in diverse musical settings.
